Q. Can I preview the care providers profiles before I register for membership?
A. Yes, please take the opportunity to preview care providers before you register. You can narrow your search by entering your zip code. Our system will provide you with selected care providers up to 100 mile radius of your area. To view a full profile with the careprovider you are interested in you must register for membership.
Q. How do I know if I have to pay taxes for my care provider?
A. First you have to figure out whether the person you hire is an independent contractor or a household employee. Household employees are different from independent contractors. An independent contractor usually has a place of work away from the family hiring their services, has other customers, determines their own work hours, and policies. With a household employee the family usuallly has control over the work hours and responsibilities. If the household employee you hire works for you on a regular basis, and you expect to pay that individual $1,600 or more in a calender year, you are required to meet the tax obligations. Employers hiring indepentent contractors are not required to withhold income tax or make employer contributions the the employee's Social Security fund. The vast majority of household workers are employees, not independent contractors. However, some temporary babysitters,or petsitters who work for many friends and neighbors on a irregular, sporadic schedule are independent contractors.
Q. How will I know when my care provider is available?
A. The care providers profile should state when available on their profile such as their perfered start date, and whether they are part time, or full time. Nannies Amore.com created an availability calendar as a resource tool for families and care providers.
